This is the shell from my rear main bearing when I did the RMS.

What do you guys think of its condition?

In this case plastigage is a lot more useful than pictures.

Dude, does your signature say that you have 495,000 original miles on the motor?!

I'm not a mechanic but I would say that your bearings might be a little worn...

I wouldnt call the bearing toast but its not in the best condition. None of the copper is showing. Looks like it had some detonation going on as well as some debris going through it. But if that really is the original bearing with almost 500,000 miles on it, amazing.
