I've been looking at the JK shocks. seems there are 2 or 3 different jk shocks--sport, sahara, and rubicon. I think sport and sahara shocks are all black, and the rubicon is red and black. Does anyone know which ones I should get that will work with the 2" leaf springs and spacers? thanks

I put a set of Bilsteins on mine last month and love em. waiting for the budget to open a bit before tackling the springs. mine aren't too bad, worst when leaving the gas pump with a full tank. I've heard the shackle bolts are a pain in the butt, might hit those with some blaster or wd40 and let them soak while you think about it...

I've hit everything twice in the past week with aerokroil, similiar to pb blaster. I'm going to go for the new leaf springs, and I was trying to save some money buying the JK shocks. I just want to be sure to get the right ones.

I've heard that you can get your springs re-arched for about half the cost of new springs. I was looking into it because mine are sagging bad as well. This is done at two local spring shops (that's all they do is springs) so I'm thinking it might make sense. Anyone done it or know of anyone that did it? I just want the OEM stance anyway.

I was looking at trailer leaf springs at Agri supply the other day. The most expensive set was $36. I was wishing there was a way to get the specs and compare them to see if they would work. I was thinking the trailer leaf springs would be way too stiff.

If you are putting a 2-3" lift, the only Wrangler shocks that will work are the Rubicon shocks.

thanks idub. that answers my question. I saw a set on craigslist, but they are the non rubicon (all black) shocks. I'll keep looking for the rubi's.

Yeah, I've had it done but only for classic cars where an OEM replacement is not available. Re-arch jobs don't seem to last.

I just picked up some JK sport shocks off a 2010 unlimited. The rears measure 22.5" center to center, so a gain of 2.5" from replacement monroe sensa tracs. The fronts measure 21.25, while the monroes are 21.125. So adding a 2" lift, the rear should work fine but I'm thinking the fronts might not work.
I've done some research online about JK stock shocks. it seems they vary in length from year to year, suspension package chosen, and model, with the exception of the Rubicon which all seemed to be the same.
