Did they ever make a rear hatch for the 96 xj body style that you could just open the glass and / or the whole thing? I had an exploder before my xj and that part of it was kinda nice when I had my rack on the receiver hitch loaded with stuff or deer. It was built high for ground clearance but when loaded I dont think I'll be able to open the hatch.

 

I wish they made one like that but,they don't.

 

maybe you can get hte hinges off a grand cherokee and mod the window rubber and drill the glass and make one. be a huge hit if you can do it

 

That it would! lol i would love something like that! I wonder if there is any other suvs that match close enough for this to work, but of course i will wait and see if someone else comes up with one b4 i try lol

 

These XJs have been around and so heavily modded, I think if it could be done while still being cost effective and not too labor intensive - it would have been done by now.
