I bought new hydraulics but cant seem to figure out how to get the old ones off? Ive never replaced hydraulics. I have been tugging and pulling but cant seem to figure it out! Help
on the body side of strut, that little ball looking thing has a tiny pin that you pivot and then pull out. you may have them both sides but most new struts have quick connects on hatch side

If they are the original lifts:
There is a thin shiny metal clip that wraps around the diameter of the end.
This clip has a small loop on the end.
You need to unclasp it.
Then slide it out. The opposite end goes straight into the housing.
If they are aftermarket lifts:
The end is held to the body with a flat black clip.
On opposite sides of this clip the clastic housing flattens out.
Jam a flat screw driver in there and remove the clip.
Either way: Be prepared for the hatch to come down on your head.
GOOD TIP: Have a helper...less headaches (literally)
