rear fender problems.

ok so i trimmed my fenders about a month ago and i went wheelin on saturday and my back fenders are starting to come apart from the inside (i dont know exactly what its called) but there is starting to be some space in between.. any quick fixes on this? is it doing any harm?

Did you cut and fold? Or did you just cut it off? The point of the cutting and folding is to make sure it doesn't separate because it's two separate pieces of metal. I would somehow fix them back together. However you want, because if you don't it can rust all inside thre and it's probibally weaker now.

The rear fender you are refering to is called the quater panel and the seam is the pinch weld seam. Unfortunatly it is a big deal on our jeeps. It provides structural support for the unibody. My truck is a mud only truck I use about once a month so I really don't care much so I left mine seperated. But if it's a daily, you might run into cracking places you don't want. Honestly I would make a piece of metal that conforms to your wheelwell and weld everything up. But you ahold be okay for a little while. Then agian I could be wrong about it being stuctural. I'm sure you will get a solid answer within a couple of days.
