I want to swap my p.o.s dana 35 with abs out and install a chrysler 8.25 without abs,anybody know of any reason not to?

 

other then where things are located at, no not really. but you might want to look at upgrading the internals. of the 35 , i have a dana 35 and have not prob with min and i beat the hall of my jeep

 

Welcome to the forum. Do it. Make sure you get the DS from the donor vehicle. Both C-clip type axles, so you break a shaft on either one, your tires walking away from you. I see them all the time on CL for under $150

 

Upgrading a 35......can't polish a turd. IMO

 

Sell ya a dana 44 ! screw the 27spline 8.25.

 

I have 3 XJ's, two of them are '98s and a '94. The '98s have BOTH had rear ends replaced and one is on its THIRD dana 35. I dont tow heavy loads and I dont burn out on pavement, they are just crap. Thanks for the info...

 

Last 2 years in production they were 29 spline. Bigger tubes than a 44
