When I changed them out on several other vehicles and didn't have a press or a vise i used a large C clamp.

It may not always be the recommended method but on more than one occasion I've used nothing more than a few of the right sized sockets, needle nose, a BFH, and a lot of brute force. I've done em on the side of the highway that way before and it may not be professional but it gets the job done. Also you may not want to use a C-clamp depending on how stuck the caps are. Ive ruined a clamps making them do a vices job.
