My friends 89 xj interior lights go on when he opens his rear hatch but my 94 don't, is there a pin switch that should make the rear light go on?
I also have no pin switches on the rear door, Thanks...Tj

I looked for that myself...and on my 2001 its the light itself...I pushed it and now it come on when the hatch is opened...and off when it's shut.

I was going to suggest that too.....

On that year probably built on to door latch.

My 89 has one built to the door latch, but the connector can come off pretty easy. You need to pull off the rear panel to expose the terminal, and see if something has happened back there. Then you will be able to truly tell if your model came with that option while you are at it.

It should have that if your doors activate the lights too.
