They came out perfectly clean...jk... I broke both bolts trying to replace my rear passenger side bump stock. Used quite a bit of PB on it but didn't seem to help. They broke off clean at the unibody, no nub or anything sticking out. I'm thinking about drilling into the old bolts and tapping them then using an M8 or M10 bolt. Anyone done something similar?
I don't really want to punch the old bolts out into the unibody, and don't expect that I can "easy out" these bolts since they are completely seized. Any thoughts are appreciated.
I snapped one off mine and drilled the bolt. Started with a small bit and worked my way up. Retapped it for the same thread as factory. Not sure what that was tho. I keep thinking 5/16-18 or something. Or you can drill all new holes next to the old ones and use nutserts.
I replaced my pretty much non-existent bump stops when I replaced my rear sway bar links.
I used the CRC Freeze & Release but still managed to bust one on the driver's side.
I punched it into the uni-body and it turns out the hole is a 1/2" in diameter.
Which is the exact size hole you need for a 5/16"-18 rivnut. Which is what the bolt is.
But I own a rivnut tool so....
Was a little awkward but got the tool in there to get it done.
I don't remember the length but thinking no more then 1 1/2".
