Default Rear BPE spacer

I found a site where someone used their old rear sway bar brackets as an upper BPE for their rear shocks. Since this extended the shock down about an inch or so, I was wondering if it was smart to add a spacer to extend the shock even more? Say 2", 1" for the mount and a 1" spacer/washer. Also, can you use these same brackets for the front?

Thanks
David

It is smart to add extension if your setup calls for more extension. I would increase travel if your shocks are your limiting factor.

I would just go with full traction bar pin eliminators. They extend your shocks just about 2".

They also make unbolting shocks a breeze.

Those are slick. Where did you get them? I was wanting to make this upgrade as cheap as possible. If there are no negatives for adding a 1" spacer, Im gonna go ahead and do it.

www.4wd.com. They don't list them in their product catalogue but they can order them from full traction. It was about $26 shipped for a set of two. That big cross bolt is not included. They include a regular sized shock bolt but it was too small for my Old Man Emu shock bushings so i upgraded to 5/8" I love big bolts

Sorry for bringing this back from the dead but I was wondering if those brackets could be used for front bpe's? I called a few local jy's and one of them has a few of the rear sway bars with brackets.

Thanks again

They should. You might have to drill a hole or two but they should. I was accidently sent two of the same sets of those BPE spacers i showed you above. Both sets were for the rear. I didn't want to wait so i attempted to put one of the rear sets up front but it appears the distance between the bolts in the rear is further apart than the bolts up front so the bolt holes on the BPE's were not lining up. I had to drill another hole a little further out. It worked out. SHould be the same with those brackets.
