Default rear air shocks?

I was told by someone I know that I should put air shocks in the rear of my jeep. I was wondering if, I did this would I still be able to go offroading?

Why did they suggest air shocks?

No, I wouldn't put air shocks on the rear of your Jeep. Air shocks are only for helping with a heavy load for short distances. They aren't meant to carry around the weight of the Jeep for extended periods of time. They also aren't going to like constant extreme articulation.

I think they suggested them because I want to lift my jeep and it looks like the rear of my jeep is sagging.
