Getting ready to install my aftermarket fog lights. I want to paint the plastic parts of my bumper and spoiler in the front before I install. I picked up some Krylon Fusion, knowing that most of the wrangler guys used it to repaint fading flares. The can says "no prep necessary". Just wash thoroughly with an ammonia based cleaner, let dry and paint. I plan to use some grease and wax remover, but should I go over it with some 0000 steel wool or something like that to give it more surface adhesion???

I have a plastic mailbox and I cleaned it with Windex and sprayed it with two coats and that was three years ago and it still looks good. Sorry no Jeep experience with that type paint.

Thanks guys. I think I will go over the plastic bumper with some paint thinner and 0000 steel wool, then use the paint prep solution.
I'll let you know how it turns out.

Thanks for the warning! I just wanted to make sure the paint would stick well with the bumper taking all the bugs and rock chips hitting it. I think I will still scuff it up a little, without the thinner, though.
I wanted to get this done today, but the temp has dropped from 75 yesterday, to about 30 with sleet today. I guess I'll wait until it warm back up some.
