Dont worry about it guys, Rich is clearly a troll. I've seen him in threads starting fights twice today alone.

Maybe its because we are Canadian and hes jealous. lol

I had a set of Craftsman Pry bars, nice ones at that. the tip on one chipped one day I took it back and they replaced it, after going home and getting the receipt (bought 4 years prior) about 3 months later, the pry bar bent, I mean bent like it lost its temper of the steel. I took it back the next day (I needed it to get some projects done) With recipt in hand, talked to the same Manager, same store, . he refused the warranty saying "Craftsman tools have a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY, meaning you can not return the same tool twice". He then showed me on the receipt how they identify a 2nd time warranty. I was in there for an hour, and the best they could do was selling me the pry bar at half the orgional price. I walked away.

This is my experience and mine alone and my understanding now. If you do this for a living (working on cars) like some of us do, Craftsman may be good quality, but customer service quite frankly sucks.

Dont know what to tell you I've never had that problem. So you know I'm a Millwright and work on machines you never seen or could beleive the size of what we do for a living, anyways as far as working with tools, yeah we got the car or even desil mech. beat,(i work on cars in my spare time too). But they have to warrenty there tools you dont even need the receipt to return them I think the manager was just beging an A-hole to you.Better luck next time.

Me personally, if its a general use tool (sockets or wrenches) ill buy craftsman or mastercraft (Canadian tire brand) because if i have to cut up or modify it to make it work for a application i don't mind it so bad, because there cheep to replace. Air tools, electrical test tools, and other specialty tools (like torque wrenches, pullers, taps + dies, etc.) ill go Mac or Snap on because you get what you pay for.

Nothing worse than misdiagnosing electrical problems because of your cheep multimeter when your on piece work.

So I ended up getting the Craftsman 255-piece set at Sears.

And man I gotta say Im very happy with this purchase. Compared to Harbor Freights', the Craftsman definitely has better quality (from hand feel alone).

My two-cents (and this is me 'trying' to nit-pick) is that the plastic tool box it comes with could be alot better. The two-flaps that keeps the 3 drawers in place is pretty tight and hard to open at first, but im pretty sure after a while, they will wear out and be alot more loose in the future.

Aside from that and a lifetime-warranty no questions asked, I believe is a steal.
Will definitely go back to Sears and get the rolling-stool and stands next.
