Default Random knocking noise from 4.0l that is not knocking the same as the rpms

I have a 2000 jeep Cherokee 4.0l with automatic transmission. It started knocking the other day right after I got a car wash (not sure if that had to do with it) but it started knocking at idle and the rpms were very low, it was a very loud random knock. It stop idling and had to get it towed home because I did not want to mess anything up more than I already had. Any help with what this might be would be great, Just bought the cherokee a couple months ago (156,000 miles) any help would be amazing to get it running good again

Hopefully it isn't, but sounds like broken timing chain

Could be the Camshaft Position Sensor Oil Pump Drive.

You'll need to remove Camshaft Position Sensor and see if there's any damage, if okay then remove the Oil Pump Drive to examine the drive gear and see if the shaft is ate up.
