I bought a brand new radio and hooked everything up exactly the same as stock and I turn to cm radio and all I hear is static. The antenna cable looks new but im wondering about the coonection at the antenna itself. Any ideas!?! It did it at stock too

Does it have a CD player? If so does the CD player work? There is a connection for the antenna wire inside the fender and that's what went bad on mine. Instead of hassling with it I went to vato zone and got a glass mount powered antenna pretty cheap and it actually works pretty darn well.

Forgot to mention that it has a super annoying red LED that I simply covered with electrical tape. The black plastic matches the tape so well that you can't tell it's there unless you are looking for it.

The antenna wire in the fender on mine was all jacked up too. Coincidentally NONE of the "universal" antennas (antennae?) actually fit. So I went to one of those big electronics stores, not best buy, and got one of the hidden antennas that has a sticky end that you mount to something metal so it grounds and it worked great! It was like $40 but I liked it better than the glass mounted one mentioned above. No wires in sight. I suppose if you're ambitious you could hide them pretty well but I didn't want to bother with it. I ended up taking a good part of the dash apart to get mine in where I was happy with it but the dash is pretty easy to take apart.

it happened on mine as well....it turns out the passengers side speaker wire was grounding out because of some wires it had sticking out...it worked intermittently when you opened and closed the door...its a long shot but it might be something to look into
