Radio only works on AM

Radio only works on AM

When I got my xj a few months ago the radio worked sometimes on FM. And always on AM.It made a popping sound every now and then. Now it only works on AM. Any ideas?

Is the radio grounded properly? Is the wire to the antenna unbroken and un-pinched? Is the antenna connector seated firmly in the back of the radio?

You may have lost the fm amp in the radio

Don't know if it was the fm amp or what but I put one in today from the j/y, works great.

i have had one come into my work shop like this onetime. we went to walmat and bought some cheap lil 70 something doll hair radio for them and problem solved.
