Hello. I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ, 5 speed, manual, 4.0 6L inline with 4W drive. I need to replace my radiator (has leaks). It's the original radiator. I do not do any off-road driving and not even any highway driving.
Do either of these radiators look like they might be a good replacement. There's a ton of choices and to be honest, I know nothing about what would make one product better than another. If it matters, the vehicle originally had air conditioning, but it no longer works.
Or if you know of another radiator you could suggest, I'd be open to that help, as well.(something in the $100 + or - range)
Look for one specifically for a manual transmission. The automatic rad has the trans cooler built in. You don't need that unless you wanna use it to cool some other fluid.
The Denso is the better brand. It's a direct fit for your XJ and a solid, standard replacement. Just confirm it's for the 4.0L and manual transmission, which it appears to be. You're good to go.
I have run the CFS radiators for many years with no issues but I get the all metal ones. Not a big fan of plastic side tanks...they are cheap for a reason
Thanks for the responses. I wound up ordering a Nissens Radiator. The feature I liked about it was the fiber reinforced resin to mold the plastic side tanks. I've read mixed reviews about their radiators, but then I've read mixed reviews on just about all the brands. Very difficult to pick one over another. Kind of a crap shoot....so I feel I'm just taking a chance and will see how it goes.

First I've heard of that brand, and it appears to be a European brand, so I'll be interested to hear what you think about it.
After doing a good flush of the engine and heater core (especially a backflush of that), refill with Zerex G05. It is golden in color. I would drain system. Flush with hose water until it runs clear. Then flush with a gallon or two of distilled water. Whatever remains in the system will dilute with your G05.
This is what I got from flushing a gallon backwards thru my '97 heater core; note how this is supposed to be "bright green" and translucent...
Note the standard pathways for the cooling system. You want to flush the core backwards...
