Well,
Long story short, I converted my 90XJ renix to an open cooling system a while back with a tank from a Benz and an overflow from a Mighty Max truck.

Well it worked great until I kinda poked a small stick through the radiator on a trail. So now I am going to do a complete cooling upgrade. I am getting a new 93XJ Radiator with cap, new water pump, new thermostat housing with fitting for temp sensor. But here is my major question,
Do I have to change the Heater Control Valve? Can I just hook the hose from the top and the bottom of my old tank together? My HCV is not bad and doesn't leak. I see so many people either upgrade to a newer HCV or just eliminate it all together. Seems like just a splice in the line would be enough.
Please help, I would like to finish today. I can but a new one, bit seems like a waste of time and money.

you can bypass the heater valve and just run the lines strait into the firewall, there is no problem there, but you need to ditch the bottle you have now and get an open system type bottle (if that second one u have already isnt).
