My cousin races a grand cherokee. Last race day he screwed up the gears in it. He was running a v8 motor. He had a 4:88 gear ratio running it in 4wd high. Now he's being forced to switch to a set of 3:73 gears. My question is this, should he run it in 4wd low side now with it in drive? Any suggestions? The track is dirt/mud it's curvy with sharp turns so lots of take off power is needed but there is a spot that's a stretch to pick up speed in. I told him he should run it in 4wd low range in regular drive. Just asking yalls opinions.

It'll blow the tcase up but it'll work. Lots of ultra4 guys race in single low with a 2.xx something ratio, but they use much stronger gear driven tcases.
