Thx yo!
RMS is just one of the leaks but i'm sure i'll get to the valve cover, tranny, differential and soon as i make it thru the RMS replacement .

well, i only metion it because a leaking valve cover will leak down in between the motor and tranny and will look like a bad RMS

when i comes to oil leaks, the best strategy is to start at the top and work your way down.

Damn, i got it the other way round
I did thought about that, and was thinking of using uv dye but i chose to R/R to gain some wrenching experience.

Gonna degreased it down tomorrow and see.

I am right in the middle of my first rear main seal dance too

For first attempt this am I disco'd sway bar links, shocks, and steering damper. Lifted Jeep about as high as jack could go and still couldn't get the pan out .

Tonight I disco'd track bar and lower control arms, and will give it ago again tomorrow. Hope this helps.

Thx for the heads up.
In one of the above write-up, you might find something about jacking up the tranny slight to get clearance.

GL .

I'm doing it the other way

Oops forgot my RTV....local store don't carry Mopar nor Loctite 518 as recommended, which Permatex would be a good replacement?
They gave me Permatex #2 but i don't really trust them, what do you think?

Found this, looks like Permatex 51813 is it.

Big day tomorrow .

Well I completed the rear main seal replacement...only time will tell if I did it correctly...

FWIW...top seal was a 'lil harder to tap out than I anticipated, but I did not loosen the other bearing caps...maybe that was why.

Also looking to replace oil pump tomorrow. Was gonna do it today, but I did not realize that the oil pick up line is PRESSED into pump and is not included when you buy new pump...so I ordered a new one plus oil pump gasket. Looking to install those tomorrow...sleepy now...long day...light headed

Hi guys.

Ran into a problem already

How to remove bolt (1)?
Looks like there is a cover (2) over it, might have to remove (2) to access the bolt (1).
If so, pls advise how to remove cover (2)?

Thx in advance.
