I ordered an AP brand muffler and tailppe for mine a couple weeks ago from Rockauto. With a 5% discount i found on the web it was $53 dollars shipped!
It is all aluminized so it should last a while and was easy to install.

Edit: forgot to say it is quiet as stock.

its not a race car so just a muffler wont kill your performance, i had a flow master on my old one and it made no difference compared to the stock one im running now besides the sound.
only problem is now i hear all the scary sounds and clunking it makes going down the road

Thats what I want! I want to hear all of what my xj has to say! I was looking around under the ride today (changed auto tranny filter + fluid) and found the exaust pipe was dented really badly right at the collector junction. How it could be dented in that fashion I dont know. Unreal... almost three dents around the circumference of the pipe that block at least 50% of the area of the pipe. I called an exhaust shop today. They wont quote it till they see the pipes and what is salvageable. Looks like I might be on track to replace the whole shebang (keeping the cat). capdaddy capdaddy

They are all that way! That is the way the factory made them, why I do not know. I have heard that it is for drive shaft clearance.
