Ok it's not what it sounds like. I'm not trying to steal gas haha. My tank has rotted out and needs replaced. Problem is, it's leaking too bad to drive anywhere so I have to do it at my apartment complex outside (management frowns upon this). But I have 3/4 tank left so dropping it full of gas is out of the question. I would like to drain the tank as quickly and cleanly as possible. I know how to syphon gas and I hate doing it. The tank is junk anyway so I was thinking of pushing a barbed fitting or something with a value into the rotted bottom portion. Open value, fill 5 gallon can, close and repeat. Any thoughts on this or alternative suggestions? Also keep in mind I need it as empty as possible. I blew out my back 5 days ago so the less weight the better.

Seems like a logical method.
If it were me, I'd just have several 5 gallon buckets ready, knock a hole in the tank with a punch in the lowest spot and drain it directly into a bucket. Then transfer to a gas can.

If the tank is as rusty as you say I wouldn't want to punch any hole into it for fear a larger hole being knocked out.
Go to Harbor Freight and buy a cheap transfer pump of some kind then pump it out into a gas can in the quantity you desire or can carry. The pump is a very handy thing to have around as will find other uses for it in the future I'm sure.
