This obviously doesn't stop the leak but it keeps it off the driveway and undercarriage. The piece if sheet metal is just under 3x5, size doesn't much matter, cut to preference. I bent it full length approximately matching the bell housing curve so it fits snugly and more important it makes it stiffer. I bent the corners up so they grab the absorber, may not need it; but why not? The absorbent is a piece of oil-sorb material, a rag or towel will work just fine. The sheet metal screw is just fat enough to insert in the flared out gap of the flywheel cover, guessing I used a #8 by about 3/4", just find what fits snugly.

I wouldn't call this a "fix" I would call it a redneck catch pan.

Is there a reason you don't want to just repair it?

But then you wouldn't be able to let your wife change the oil any more...

So instead of fixing the oil leak, you put a maxi-pad on it?

Drop the pan, change the oil pump, & replace the seal. Few hours work.

The rear main can be done by just removing the pan?
