Quick connect release to replace radiator
Soo, it is the radiator after all.
I have drained it and pulled the big hoses. I don't have the quick disconnect tool. Is there an alternate way to remove the lower hose for the transmission?

Your best bet is to get the tool. The PO cut the tubing on mine just before the disconnect when he swapped the radiator. I ended up with a puddle of tranny fluid in the driveway the other day when the hose clamp let go.
If you go the route of cutting the disconnect away from the tubing make sure to get the right size clamp and check that clamp often.

The store was already closed. So I ended up cutting the the fitting off of the old radiator with the sawzall, Then I used a small knitting needle (go ahead and laugh) and wedged a piece of toothpick in between each of the clamp pieces and the hose. Wiggled it a bit and it came off. I was able to reuse the clamp since it was not damaged.
But I will be sure to check it often

replacing the quick disconnect with a tube and two (or 4, whatever you want t do) hoseclamps is not a bad idea anyway. Makes things easierin the future.
for future reference, if you don't have the tool (but buy a little set for a few $ of the internet): yoou can use the cap of a sharpie marker, it has the same diameter. Cut the tip off, make a cut along the side, so it folds over the line, and advance into the quick disconnect and you're done.....
Will see if I can find a pic of mine.
