Questions about installing door jamb switches
I'm trying to install front door jamb switches in a 99 Jeep Cherokee. The switches look like the one shown in the picture. When I put the switch through the hole in the jamb the shaft of it sticks out too far, and the door hits it. What am I missing? I think I have the correct switches. Also, what holds the switch in the jamb? There is nothing there but a hole in the jamb. The switches were removed so long ago I don't remember if there was originally anything there to hold the switches in place. Thanks.

Easy just push the door all the way closed and itll push itself in. It also just screws in once its tight just close the door dont slam it i just gently but firmly closed mine and it slid inside.

Yep.
Over time they can get loose and push in too far. Just push them back out and add a bit of epoxy or super glue.
