x2 on detailed pictures. I did the EXACT swap you did all at the same time and didn't have any problems.

Not the best picture but all I have.

I saw from Jp mag that they tried the 99 intake and they actually losses hp and this is all backed up on the dyno. Just a warning to you all I'll try and find the page.

That article has been tossed around so much here. With just the intake manifold and no other performance parts like they did, yes a loss. With bolt on performance and an opened up exhaust you see gains.

Id rather go off dyno numbers than somebody saying it does. If you did have dyno proven numbers then I'll know.

I did the swap on my 95 ZJ and did notice some slight gains using my seat of the pants dyno, the power comes on more in the upper RPM range and feels like it pulls harder longer. Before the swap the power band would drop off at 3500rpm, now it pulls all the way to redline. My gas mileage did not change at all after the swap. The only other mods were a 703 injector swap and I changed the location of the IAT sensor to the air box, those two mods were done before the intake swap. I did do some slight porting to the intake before I installed it just to keep all six ports close to the same size. I'm very happy with the results.

So the seller asked if I've adjusted the base idle on the TB. I wonder if that means he's telling me I should? I really want to pull the TB so you guys can tell me how to set it and I don't want to have to wait until next week! Argh! I wonder if I can pull it and take it with me for the weekend as I travel.

Not sure what he's talking about. My 63mm from strokedjeep.com bolted right on no adjusting no problems.

In theory, mine should've, too. He said they set the idle screw during the upgrade and the end-user shouldn't have to mess with it. Maybe someone dropped the ball?

Bottom's up! A view of the bottom of the TB.

The only thing adjustable on the TB.

A "top-down" assessment. Funny...looks like it's smiling at me.

Another angle looking into the top of the TB.

The set screw looks like it is not adjusted high enough...usually they're flush with the bottom.

Explain to me how you checked the intake for vacuum leaks where it bolts to the head

Found it. Cracked intake between the 1 & 2 runners. Needed the smoker to find it. Buying another intake and will try it again as soon as I get it. Bummer, but glad we found the reason.
