Default Question on D30 vacumn disconnect

I just located a D30 with 4.10's, was wondering if the vacumn disconnect could be done away with??
If this question has been asked before, I apologise in advance. Forum search did not turn up anything.
Thanks,
Mike

yeah, you have to pull a seal at the disco unit in the tube and put one in at the pumpkin. then just get a block off plate for the disco housing and throw in a set of large joint xj or tj shafts, or go for the almighty RCV shafts.

oh, i forgot, you will have to plug a vacuum line at the t-case that would've actuated the disco.

i've done mine.

step by step
1. remove 4 bolts holding dico plate in place
2. reomeve the air lines from the plate.
3. pull the C clip with needle nose pliers
4. slide the c shaped bracket over.
5 re insert the C clip.
6 on the axle slide the gear over (locking the 2 shafts together)
7 reinstall the cover plate and reconnect air lines (not needed, but keeps them out of the way.
8. be weary of front drive shaft vibrations as it will spin all the time now. balance if vibes noted

search the forum for command trac disconnect. a pictorial is here somewhere
