Default Question about wheel spacers.

I removed my fender flares and now it loods like my front wheels stick out further than the back. is that because it is narrower in the front than the back? also I wanted to get 1 inch wheel spacers, should I get 1.5 inch for the back to match the front since it seems as if the front sticks out more?

1st off don't get wheel spacers they a bad news! If u want more width get new wheels! Procomp sells the series 98's that are $56 each & come with 1"-4" of back spacing!!!
2nd I think it would look goofy if u went skinny in the front & wide in the rear! But that's all up to u!?!?

You can get a set of crager soft 8's on jegs.com for 39 a piece with a 4 inch backspacing. The stock rims have 5.5" of backspacing I think, the less backspacing on the rim, the further the tires stick out. If you're going to lift it and put 31's or bigger on it, you're not gonna want to go more than 4.5 inches of backspacing or your fronts will rub the lower control arms in tight turns.

Answer his question guys.

It's the way the body is. Mine looks the same. Leave it alone. If you want more width get the same size front and rear. I run them and they're fine. I wheel it regularly too. Use thread locker and keep them checked.

thanks broncofire!! I figured it was just the shape of the Jeep. Good advice on keeping my eye on them. have you had any experience with them putting too much stress on your wheel hub assembly? how long have you been wheeling with them?

Mine are Ebay specials and I've had them for 3 months. Just check them when you rotate your tires(or have the tire shop) and you'll be fine. Tighten them like you do the lugs to wheels. I wouldn't get more than 1.25" ones though.

The answer is that the front end is a little wider than the rear. This is common. 62" in front and 60.5 in the rear I think. If you want to use spacers, you can do so safely. Just torque them down evenly and then mount your wheel to them. I have a full set on mine, no problems.

I may be wrong, but if I remember right, the front end of the cherokee slopes inward as you go from the fenders towards the grill. If you look at it from the top, the fender seems to go across the tire at an angle in the front. Just my 2 cents
