Hey everyone so I wanna see what y'all say about this. I have a 4.0 i6 in my cherokee and the oil pressure shows fine when it's cold. but as it warms up when it's idling the pressure gauge will drop to 0 and the check gauges light comes on. As far as I can tell it's not running roughly or making any sounds that are concerning. Should I just hook a mechanical pressure gauge up to it to check to see if it's just the oil pressure sending unit?

What's the pressure when cold? Have you done anything recently like change the oil and filter? If not, when was the last time you did? Have you checked the oil level?
Yes, I'd get a mech gauge to check.

So I don't remember the brand but it's running 10w30.
Off the top of my head the cold idle pressure is 20-30ish I think, I'd have to go start it to see. It has fresh oil and a new filter which was done earlier this month. Last I checked the oil level was good.
