sorry 4*4 newb question,,
that I dont know, man, bc here there is one good legal place to go wheeling at, and it on a Forest Park, that used to be a santuary for me, bc I was a Boy Scout, an all the summers I went there kinda like a jamboree, and the Consil sold 2 miles of it to a private company to make a offroad trail and they had to cut many many trees and Im all against messing up a 100 year old tradition and santuary for 40k, yes they sold it for only 40k, so I cant put a foot in that place , so till I find a legal good place to use my 4*4 I wont be needing to fix it.

Just FYI...Normally a t-case wont stop working unless it stops for both front and rear. You may have a linkage issue.
The 231 and 242 are chain driven...thus if you have an issue with the front, you usually don't have any power going to the rear either.
You may have a simple fix by just crawling under the drivers side while someone moves the t-case shifter...You can watch what is moving and see if something IS NOT moving...Then fix it.

Rebuilt several and bouncy is right you can usually find a linkage problem. The chains will stretch and get loose but you can hear that slap.

You need to get under it while someone else moves the lever. See what moves and what don't move. See if you can determine the cause of the linkage problem from that.
