Got a brake issue which seems to have the better of me.

When braking hard at low speeds, sub 15mph to stop, the car seems to hesitate while stopping. It's just like the brakes aren't applying an even brake pressure to the discs. You can literally feel how the speed decrease isn't even from the passanger seat.

Now the odd part is that I'm not feeling this through the brake pedal which I guess would be the case if the brake fluid pressure, like air in the system. Or uneven discs for that matter. If anything the pedal seems a bit firmer than usual but that might be me being paranoid.

There might be a very slight steering wheel judder but not like anything was loose or nothing like that. Might be on account of the uneven decrease in speed.

I'm kind of on a loss here. Gonna look over all the bolts, caliper and so on, but I can't really see the reason for this behaviour.

Any thoughts or experiences are more than welcome.

 

You probably have grease on your rotors. That will eat the pads right up and cause those symptoms.

 

Thanks man, most likely you just saved me a lot of pointless wrenching.
I greased all the ball joints a few weeks ago and one of the stearing ones were leaking.
Part is on order.

Sea of brake cleaner here I come!
