I bought a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport from a guy and when I bought it, prior to starting it, I had to switch a switch on and then turn the key to start it. That worked fine for the past five months, now it won't start. It turns over, but will not start, any ideas on what's going on & is this something a guy with no mechanical skills might be able to fix?

Listen for the fuel pump, and put a spark plug tester on the ignition coil. I doubt he was smart enough to bypass a sensor like a TPS or CPS, so I'd start with those two.

I'm sorry, I'm not a mechanic but someone said that theres a coil or something that's really hard to get to and that's what was bypassed, now I can't remember what it was. It's not the ignition coils so what is it?
