Yep, bad idea. The baffles being reversed causes the exhaust to be very restrictive. It can easily cause rough idling / CEL. Just look at a clogged converter, you will receive very similar symptoms.

Well I hate to feel like a dumba** but yep, its clamped on. So it should be any easy fix. We're just gonna ditch the FM and just throw on a thrush or cherrybomb

Why didn't you try it loosely bolted on an see if it sounded different? If it sounded muted or any quieter it probably wasn't gonna work out.
I did that with mine (cheap FM knockoff) and it sounded identical. 5,000 miles later, no issues at all

Is the FM knockoff stamped/marked "Inlet" like the real FM?
