I plan on getting my engine rebuilt at a local machine shop, I know I don't have the skill to be able to rebuild it myself. What I am looking to do is pull it myself, I told the shop Id bring them the block, crank and connecting rods and they would take it from there. I have an indoor place to pull it, but the issue is that after I pull the engine out I need to get the jeep out of there and its about a 15 min ride home. I plan on towing it back to my house.
If I pull the engine will I be able to leave the transmission and the transfer case sitting it there without having to worry about it falling out on the ride home and then sitting, and another possible ride back to the garage? Should I pull the whole drive train? If I do have to pull the whole drive train what tips and things that I should do to make it go as smoothly as possible?
Another question I have are what bolts will I need to hook it up to an engine stand? is there a certain length and thread? I need to have these before I pull it so I can get it on the stand.
Any possible tips you guys may have for me doing this would be great.

i Have pulled engines and left the trans in the vehicle...however you have to fight it more...I found out after a few pulls it is quicker to pull motor and trans as one unit.

X2 just disconect everything, undo the motor mounts, completeley remove the trans crossmember and pull it out through the front, also not a bad idea to take the radiator its not that much more wor k, it makes the job easier and you wont stuff your motor through it and have to buy a new one.Just throw down some plastic in the back and put the trans in there while towing.
