Default PS pump fail? Maybe?

I have a 91 Cherokee with the l6 motor, my problem is. When i start the vehicle it doesn't make any weird noises at all, but after 5-10 minutes it starts to chirp or even like a kind of squeal. Now I think its the PS pump, so I checked the fluid, a little low but not bad; so I added about a cap full. Drove it around and it started chirping again. But what I did notice was that once the chirping starts, if I turn the vehicle off and back on again, the chirping stops and does not come back for another 5-10 minutes. When I turn, it chirps, when I'm sitting at a stop light idling, it chirps, it probably does when I'm driving too, but I can't hear it because of my loud exhaust. So what I'm asking is, any ideas? Does this sound like a PS pump? Or does it sound like something else. You guys and girls let me know what you think it could be. Thanks.

might need just a belt or idler pully bearing . power steering pumps will whine when low or going bad.

Ok, so pretty sure its my belt. Question is, how do you tightin the tension and where might that adjustment be? Also, think its my belt tension because, when it started to squeal, I sprayed belt dressing on it and it squealed real loud and then quit. So that's what I'm thinking when i say belt. Can you even adjust the tension?
