Pros and cons and differences of a renix and not
Okay first of all let me start off by saying i drive a fully built camaro so i dont know jack about a jeep lol
Now then, what is a renix?
What is the difference between a renix and a regular jeep?
How do i know if i have one?
Pretty much just tell me anything you can about a "RENIX"

87-90 is the 4.0 with the RENIX (Renault/Bendix) fuel injection system. This is considered the "low output" motor.
In 91 they improved the head, cam and fuel injection set up. 91-06 is the 4.0 High Output with the Chrysler fuel injection system. Cherokees 91-96 and Wranglers 91-95 were badged as "4.0L, High Output".
The main difference between the two is the head flow characteristics. The ports in the head for the intake/exhaust are bigger and flow more freely, along with a change in camshafts and the deletion of some sensors, such as the knock sensor found on the RENIX 4.0s. Changes were good for about 20 hp more.

there are no such thing as bad vechicles its the driver that makes them bad hence short between steering wheel and gas pedal its an old auto shop saying its a joke lol i have a 89 xj and a 94 beside from a little more power from the 94 they are very reliable and pay for them selves in the long run

I can say honestly my renix has been very reliable for the past 5 years I've owned it. As long as you stay on top of the maintence your good.
Only times I had problems with being stuck is when I did stupid stuff to break it. Like the time I broke my old d35 doing a burn out. Then I replaced it with something bigger and better lol

Saying a car has a short between the gas pedal and the steering wheel is the same as saying the problem with the car (or truck, or whatever) is the loose nut behind the wheel. Most "junkers" are that way because the owners neglected routine stuff, and since THEY couldn't take care of it, the car/truck is falling apart, so they blame it on the car/truck being junk. I love buying these "junkers", fixing what ends up being minor problems (most of the time), and then driving it by them as often as I can. I love seeing them pop veins in their foreheads...

I"m at 469000+ km (290000 miles), more oil leak than burn, still getting 22 mpg (canadian sized gallon), sure it's tired, wouldn't you be? Still runs 1400 km every week. Our 95 ZJ has more pull having the improved head (and intake system), this is not to say the original is a bad or problem engine, just less HP (177 stock when new vs 185 to 190 rating of the second generation engine).

Well the deal is i dont wheel mine or crawl in it or trail ride in it. I bought it merely because it was neglected and had sat for a while and the owner wanted $400 for it so i scooped it up because i need a car i can drive on snow for the winters here in oklahoma, the car i usually drive has roughly 500whp and it sits pretty low so snow was not an option for that car so i had to break down and buy a new one... So as of this weekend i am buying a CKPS, a steering stabilizer, a head unit, an amp, and an install kit for the stereo then i will be putting that all in on Sunday and hopefully that fixes my problems with it stalling and not starting and my wicked death wobble lol and i gotta fix that pesky vacuum leak thats causing me to have no heat/air except out of the defroster.

I have had two renix's. If you have a voltmeter, you can fix a renix. They are so simple to work on. That and it's a amc not chrysler. The HO did make more power but higher up in the rpm range. Renix make more low end torque.
And a renix can be built to run like a raped ape. The one I have now has stock gearing with 33 inch tires and will melt them off. I'm a gear head also driving a 500hp car in snow would be the sh$$s. You will be very happy with your Renix.
Oh the connector on the firewall is called the C101 connector They got rid of it in 89 I believe. Iknow 90 did not have it. 87-88 had the connector. It is on the firewall right by the brake booster, you cant miss it. If you have electrical problems with your engine, It is most likely in that connector.

well my problems are probably my CKPS, i have searched countless hours for my symptoms and it all comes back with the same thing. The CKPS is going bad... So i am going to pick my new one up in about 5 hours and put it on tomorrow or sunday.
