IMO, ON DD rigs, most people buy Muds for the look not function. Depends on how you use you rig as to which is better. AT's are cheaper that may be why you see them more, but they are better on the road than a MT. I have a set of both for my rig. I run the AT's 90% of the time. My muds are 4 years old with 70% tread, my AT's are 2 years with about 20%. I don't do much mudding. My mud set gets used mostly when I am running in snow or sandy or very loose terrain or for the LOOK.

well from personal experience i have owned both bfg mud and a/ts and i found that if you do alot of on road driving the a/ts are the best bang for your buck and they are great for sand and such. but if you wanna have the look and like lots of mud go for the m/ts.

I have ran both and I am the same as the above post. If you are gonna be doing normal driving most of the time ats are fine. I have mud tires on right now and the sucked during the winter because they dont have any sipping in them so the traction wasnt that good.
