Problems
My ZJ starts and idles first thing in the morning, but after it runs for a while if I start it it runs for a quarter of a second and dies. If I put the gas pedal to the floor once then start it, it almost shuts down then sputters to an idle. Any help, I am thinkin plugs, wires, cap and rotor, maybe fuel filter. Any opinions. I am used to workin on Hondas and this is my first Jeep and it seems like nothing but problems, I guess thats cause I picked it up for 2k. Already put 600 in it though.

Sounds like a fuel problem. Either the inline fuel pump or the injectors are clogged. When you turn the key to on (not start) do you hear the fuel pump kick on for about 3 seconds? check that. It could be a clogged fuel filter as well. (I am not sure where the fuel filter is on a ZJ though)

I had a problem where my cherokee would idle very rough and had a bad hesitation going from idle. One night I had to jump start the jeep and everyone watching under the hood while it started said that the plug wires looked like a lightning show with sparks jumping between them. I replaced the wires and it has ran great since.
