I have a 91 jeep cherokee sport 4.0L A/T. When I am driving it, it will on random occasions make a thunk, thunk sound and I can feel the vehicle struggling to move forward. This usually stops after the second or fourth Thunk sound and everything is fine again and the jeep picks up speed and drives normally again. It sounds and feels like it is happening directly in front of me, like it was the driver's front wheel. It scared the be daylights out of me when it first happened. Now it seems to be more mellow and happens less frequently. I never know when or if it will do this when I go for a drive. Any ideas?

You should pull the wheels off and take a look at the brakes.

Thanks I will recheck the brakes, when the jeep was going through it's restoration process the brakes were 100 percent in the rear and 90 percent in front. I did not replace any of the front braking parts but I did replace the shoes in the rear as well as having the drums turned.
