I own a 92 Cherokee Laredo and i have had issues with the electric windows. Periodically they stop working. the lock switch still works. If I slam the door, or play with the rubber boot between the door and the body they usually work again. I have looked for a broken, or stripped wire but i cant seem to find any. Is there anything else it could be? and if its a wire which wire controls the windows?

If you play with the rubber boot between the door and the body and it works again that really narrows down the problem. The problem is in that area and I would guess that there is a broken/stripped wire inside that rubber boot. Luckly the wires are colored so you can follow a wire to where it goes. I would remove the door panel and the rubber boot to get a good look at as many wires that I can see. Then I would test each wire that goes from the control panel plug through the boot to the plug on the inside of the jeep with a multi meter to find the bad wire if I did not see it when removing the door panel and rubber boot.
My passenger windows did not work like the child lock was on. They rolled down only from the driver side control panel. I looked on here and found a paper clip trick that worked for me, it bypasses the child lock doo hicky.
I think if you wiggle the rubber boot and your windows work after the problem is there behind the boot somewhere.
