Default Power window problems

I have a 2001 XJ that the power windows work on the drivers door, but the other windows only work some times. I have narrowed it down to the window lock circuit. I also think it is the wires that go between the drivers door and the body. My question is, does anybody know which wires are for that circuit. I am guessing it is probably a 2 to 4 wire circuit max. I looked for a wire diagram but can not find anything so I thought I would ask here.
Thanks

Use the search function to locate the fix for this common problem. My 99 had the same issue and after using the search function, it took all of 10 min. to fix. I can't remember which two wires need to be jumped, but it was quick and easy.

Yep, the jumper fixed it. Kind of makes a person feel stupid that I have been driving around a couple years and not having operable passenger windows. Thank

I searched power switch not working. Basicallly the fix that worked for me is to remove the drivers side kick panel. You will see a plug with three wires going to it, black, tan and yellow. Using a peice of wire jumper the tan and yellow, the picture I found used a paper clip.
Search it out you should be able to find it, and yes it only takes about 15 minutes. Good luck

I solved this issue on mine a few years ago.. Pulled the motors and installed CRANK window regulators. No more issues.

I think I've got a major wiring problem. Here's the list of electrical issues

1. Radio stays on always
2. Power windows only work from driver side door
3. Power locks do not work
4. When left blinker is turned on, all flashers come on
5. Hard to start. Had starter checked and new battery. Alternator is good as well. (I think the radio staying on is making it hard to start after sitting for a few hrs, but not sure)

I'm beginning to think it might all be tied together somehow. But I know nothing about the electrical.

Power windows only working from the drivers door is caused by a faulty child lockout switch on the master panel.

Don't hijack threads. The best way to get help is to:

  1. Search for threads that have the answers you need. Then apply those answers.
  2. If you don't find it, start your own thread.

Don't read it then. It's easier to post what I believe might be one major problem and see if there might be one answer to solve it all then to look for each individual item. If you don't like it then don't read. And don't waste anyone's time with you smartass comment

Wrong, newbie. Your problem is NOT the same problem as this thread. It's time for you to learn how to use a forum like an adult. If you are old enough to have a Jeep, you are old enough to stop acting like a 13 year old.
