Power window motor ?'s

My passenger window quit working, and I just pulled the motor out. How do I know if the motor or regulator is bad? Or should I just replace it all?

Engine: 4.3L with headers and full 3" exhaust system

Jump the two wires to the battery. If it works, fine. If it grunts, swap the wires and see if it works that way.
