Default power window

Right rear passenger window wouldn't work from either switch. Pulled door panel and switch. Sprayed electrical cleaner on switch. Put back together and still wouldn't work. Tapped the motor with a hammer and it worked several times like a charm. Put door panel back on and later rolled it down again; stuck down. Repeat above to get it back up and then disconnected the switch at the door.

Suggestions on culprit? Motor sticking?

Odds are the motor is toast. If you pound on the door while pressing the window "up" or "down" switch, and the window moves,, you need a window motor.

I have the same problem but with the front passenger. Goes down but not up, I had to get some wire and hook it to the battery to get it to go back up. I tested the left switch and it doesn't send current, which would also make it so that the driver side switch won't work for that window (The current runs through the p side switch from the d side switch). If you have a multimeter you can test the rear switch where the harness going to the motor goes in. KenR may be right, it could be the motor, try this before you buy the motor though since it could be a short in the switch or harness. Let me know if you find what fixes it, I haven't bought a new switch yet.

If you can tap a motor and it works it means the brushes on the armature are sticking. Either you need new ones there or lubricate them. Either option means you take the motor apart

Yeah probably true. I was suggesting he look for an electrical short before he goes and replaces the motor because the switch working when the door is being banged on could also mean an intermitent short. It could save him having to replace the motor, and it only takes a second to check!
