So, my current set up has manual windows. My passenger door only goes up and down if a push or pull it; it won't roll. I picked up a door today, which supposedly came from a sheriff deputy jeep. Upon further inspection, it has both a power window motor and the manual set up. The manual portion is functional. I put power to the window motor and it works. But, the window does not go up or down. I hear a knocking when I apply power to the motor. Any ideas what I could do to get it to work again?

Scratch that! It appears that the power portion is aftermarket and drives the existing manual regulator. The power motor is mounted on the rear section of the door and a cable goes from there to the manual regulator to the front. The gear that goes around the manual crank is worn. I opened up the motor and found that gear gone as well. So, pulled the motor and goin' old school.
