Default power steering pump leak

Pump was making awful noise. Checked and a lot of fluid..now no noise. Trying to find the leak. Everything in the area looks oily but the connections for the pump hose and return are dry.

Would anyone know if it is possible that the hose fails in the middle of it? This picture is looking down at the pressure hose. Top part is dry but middle and bottom are soaked as is the area. Fittings are dry and the pump itself shows no obvious leakiness.

Thanks!

sometimes those crimped on connectors the rubber can fail if never been changed. Mine was like that, but my pump was also leaking. Check the back of the pump that is where mine was leaking at, where the big oring seal is in the back of pump.

It was just tossing the fluid every where.

Yes it is very possible for the high pressure line to start a leak. Usually only visible when you are starring at the hose amd somebody else is turning the wheel.. obviously the xj running. Dont stick eyes or hands close to the hose. Hydrolic (ps fluid) can be very painful at high pressure and a small stream
