Power Steering Pulley
My Jeep has decided to make a new, much more obnoxious noise in addition the the "accepted" Jeep sounds. Whenever i turn the wheel and accelerate, there is a loud screeching sound coming from one of the pulleys. Now i was thinking it was the power steering pulley, but it only does it when the heater is on :S
Anyone know whats wrong?
Thanks alot.

PS usually whines and groans, and doesnt squeal. I'd check belt tension and possibly replace the belt before replacing the PS pump or pulley, its a pain.

I think i found the problem. I was just driving along with my high beams on n suddenly they dimmed. I looked at the battery guage and saw it was at about half the level of where it usually runs. So i gave it a bit of juice, it squealed for a few seconds, and when the squealing stopped, the guage went back to normal. By the time i got er into town the it was maintaining steady battery level.
So, i've come to the conclusion that it's either my belt tension is varying in the cold weather.. or my alternator is seizing up. I'll tighten the belt first and if that doesnt work.. i'll pull the brand new alternator off the 1992 that i was workin with over the summer and put it on this one.
Thanks for your help.
