Default Power Steering Hoses

Hello, all I have a 1989 Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0l and have leaks in my power steering hoses. My questions are for those who have replaced these before, has anyone just redid the hose portion and not the metal ends of the assembly and has anyone found these parts for less than $30 for the pressure line and $25 for the return line to me that seems a little over priced for hoses. Also, does anyone have any tips for getting these things off. The job seems simple enough just making sure there are no hiccups and also any tips for draining the old power steering fluid for new. I have never drained and replaced steering fluid before and am looking for some insight on that. Thank you for any help anyone can provide.

Spend the money on good quality hoses, it will actually save you money and time in the long run. Remove the air cleaner assembly so you can get a better shot at the hoses. The rest is pretty self explanatory.

By good quality do you mean stick with the assembly hoses that cost the $30 and $25 or to buy hoses to replace the hose part that is good quality?

Buy the complete pressure hose. The return hose doesn't have crimped fittings, it's secured with hose clamps.

You probably only need the pressure hose. The return hose doesn't fail very often

Yeah I do only need the pressure but the return is starting to bubble so while I'm in there I figured I would just change both.

Removal and install isnt hard. I found crows feet to be pretty helpful for it (pictured below) with a few extensions. I did this a couple weekends ago. Hoses may be a little stubborn if they're OEM. Little penetrating oil may help

ok so getting the new hoses on was real easy took me like 15 minutes but now I'm trying to bleed the power steering setup which I believe is leaving the cap off and slowly turning the wheels. Is this correct? Also while doing this the new fluid is getting frothy/foamy is this normal never seen it before.

Had to replace mine last year..
Think I got the house with ends for less then 20$
Fairly easy fix just remove your intake box and you're good to go

That means there is air in the system.

Keep turning from lock to lock and then let the jeep sit until all the foams gone.

Turn the wheel again. Foamy still? If yes, you either need to jeep turning from lock to lock or you have air entering the system somewhere.
