Power steering hose leak
I've found a slight leak in my upper power steering hose last night. Anybody know how messy it is to change? Also, are the parts store hoses good enough?

i got my upper ps hose from auto zone and it is fine

If you're talking about the high pressure, I just replaced mine a couple weeks ago. I got it from autozone for about 20 bucks and it didn't leak much as I was changing it. Still a good idea to have a drip pan underneath. Lower hose connection was kind of a pain. You'll need a 5/8 wrench for the top and 18mm for the bottom.
Hope this helps. |
Remove the airbox so you have more room to work. Don't tighten the fittings until both of them are started a couple of threads, and start with the one on the gearbox.

Easy to do , not a lot of leakage. Take your time with starting the threads, and make sure the hose and fittings don't touch anything!!!! |
Thank you all, gentlemen. The photo and wrench sizes speed things up.
I'm gonna do the hose and driveshaft u-joints tomorrow night. |
