Default Power steering fluid 1992 4.0 L6

I need the 5931 specification but in Europe I can only find the redline which is 41 $ a quart and the 3 quarts I think I would need to flush the entire system its an obscene amount of money in fluids. Any suggestion?

I've always just used ATF in the power steering pump, never ever had an issue and it's cheap.

Thanks man! But I would like to avoid that since it is not recommended and the last owner did it and now it is leaking not so bad, but leaking.
I heard you guys in the states have the Valvoline running pretty cheap but it's not available in europe bloody hell!

You can use any power steering fluid. It doesn't need to be anything special or do like Bustedback said ATF. That's all I have ever used in all of my vehicles never with a single problem. Just because the p.o. used ATF doesn't mean that is what caused your leak. You have to remember seals go bad and over time they will leak.

You're right! but before dealing with seals at the pitman arm I think it's easier to fill in with the proper fluid, and see what happens, are you with me? I'm trying to paste here a pdf where the specification 5931 is more than recommended for 1992 year however I cant find the code SR in the jeep. You guys think this is a reliable doc? I've got it from another forum.https://www.dropbox.com/s/9dnptdnmaq...20asistida.pdf

The info from Chrysler is on spot.
If you have a leak currently you will still have the leak even with the right fluid. If it stops for a "minute" well better than nothing.
I would avoid Honda pump fluid it foams.
Motor oil is a suitable replacement "if need be", 10-30 is fine.
If you can get a bottle of the lucas P/S fluid go for it. Good product.

Been searching but Lucas fluid is not available. What do you think about Slick 50 PS fluid? its 20€ 500ml so expensive but perhaps better than atf, you guys are so lucky living in the USA.

Have never used slick50 PS fluid.
If available Penzoil and Valvoline both exceed factory specs. Valvolines' sub company is PYROIL

Thanks man!
Penzoil is not available, pyroil neither, i think would end up filling with 2/3 atf dexron III and 1/3 of slick 50 and if it does what is advertised will stop the small leak. Will see...thank you guys for all the comments!
