Default Power seat driver side not moving

My driver side power seat in my 96 cherokee country is not working correctly. When i hit the switch to move the seat forward or back you can hear the motor working; however, the seat does not move forward or back. What is the issue? Could it be the motor or something else? If someone can answer me directly without sending a link to some other post that would great, i dont have time right now to look at some other post. Thanks.

So I am in my '96 parts catalog and it is a little confusing. So I can't find you any part numbers. My '00 has a 6 way power seat. 3 motors. How many does yours have? This is most likely your problem though. There are some nylon gears in the motors that just get stripped over time. These are shots of mine in the '00. I managed to get my hands on 2 driver's power seat bases to change over from a manual seat. Both had issues but was able to make one working unit out of the 2.

@ralph77: thank you! That def sounds like a plausible problem with the nylon gear, again it’s almost like the motor is slipping with the gears causing the seat to not move so that makes sense. I will check it out and let you know.
Thanks ralph77
